The Maharashtra Board has released the SSC 2026 results, and there is something very interesting to see. Even though tougher rules were used to stop cheating, the famous "Latur Pattern" still helped many students get perfect marks.
This year, 179 students in Maharashtra got a perfect 100% score. Out of these, 128 students came from just two areas: Latur and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. This is a big deal because these areas actually had fewer students passing overall compared to other parts of the state.
1. Most Top Students are from Marathwada
The Marathwada region has once again shown that it is the best place for top scorers. The 2026 data shows exactly where these top students are:
- Latur: 104 students got a perfect 100% score.
- Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: 24 students got a perfect 100% score.
- Total in Maharashtra: 179 students got 100% marks.
This means more than 7 out of 10 perfect scorers in the whole state come from just these two places. It shows that their way of studying really works for getting top marks.
2. Tougher Rules to Stop Cheating
This year, the government was very strict about stopping students from cheating in exams. They used new ways to watch over the exam centers, especially in places where cheating was common in the past.
In Beed, they even used drones and live cameras to watch the students. Because of these tough rules, fewer students passed the exam this year:
- In Latur, the pass rate fell from 92.77% to 88.42%.
- In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, it fell from 92.82% to 88.41%.
- Total cheating cases caught in the state: 402.
Even though fewer people passed, teachers say that the top students didn't need to cheat. They got their marks because they studied hard using the Latur Pattern.
3. What is the "Latur Pattern"?
The "Latur Pattern" started in the late 1980s. It is a special way of studying that helps students do very well in board exams. Here is how it works:
- Finishing Early: Schools finish the whole syllabus very early, sometimes months before the exams.
- Lots of Revision: Since they finish early, students have plenty of time to study everything again and again.
- Practice Tests: Students solve many practice papers and take lots of tests to get ready for the real exam.
- Focus on Marks: Everything they learn is focused on how to get the most marks in the final board exam.
This method started in Latur but is now used in many other nearby districts like Beed, Parbhani, and Jalna.
4. How do Students get 100% Marks?
Getting 100% marks sounds impossible, but students in Maharashtra do it by being good at studies and other things too.
The Board gives extra marks (up to 25) to students who are good at activities outside of studies. These marks are added to their exam scores. These activities include:
- Drawing and Arts
- Sports (playing for the state or country)
- NCC or Scouts and Guides
The 2026 SSC results show that while rules are getting tougher to stop cheating, hard work and good study plans like the Latur Pattern still lead to great success.
